Grant and Megan Tjernagel

On May 20th, 2006 Grant and I were married in the presence of our Father, closest friends and our amazing families. We couldn't have asked for a better day to make a commitment to one another. We spent the entire weekend with our family and wedding party celebrating our marriage. It was a day we will treasure forever.

On June 23rd, my mother was killed in a car accident. She was on her way home from work to get ready to visit Grant and I in Minnesota at our cabin. While I will never understand why my mother was taken from this earth and from all those who love her but I find strength in the Lord, Grant, my friends and family. I thank the Lord for blessing me with an amazing husband who is compassionate and understanding. The Lord doesn't promise that bad things won't happen to us but that he will be with us when they do.

Grant and I were able to spend some time this summer at the cabin. We enjoyed waking up in the morning and sharing a cup of coffee together. We were both successful at learning to wake board and are looking forward to becoming professionals next summer. My family also had the opportunity to join us for a weekend... Jadyn had the time of her life as you can tell in the photos! We were so happy that everyone could make it up and share a weekend together. Jadyn's excitement was priceless. Some days I wasn't sure who was having more fun... Grant or Jadyn!

We also spent many weekends relaxing at the lake with the Eller family. Jake was the one who taught me to wake board. Jake would usually come to our cabin and wake me up at 7:00am to get out on the lake while it was still quiet; we would go rain or shine. I had a lot of great mornings hanging out with Jake, he probably doesn't realize how much fun I had! As everyone is aware, Grant has always been good with the ladies... two of his favorite girls in the world, Lauren and Anna... he can never get enough of them! I don't know who enjoyed tubing more... Grant or Gage? Grant was always the one on the tube with the kids! Matt is the master at cooking breakfast, there were many days we were lucky enough to be able to enjoy a great meal with the family to start our day. Lynn and I were not able to get in near as many hands of nerts as we would have liked but I think it was simply because we preferred to be on the water rather than in the house!

We went to Sturgis this summer as well. We drove out to South Dakota and met up with a group of our friends. We enjoyed the time together on the road and seeing such beautiful sites!

This fall we were fortunate to get connected with other young couples. We have been so blessed to meet these couples and we are enjoying becoming great friends with them. We can't wait to see what is in store for our friends and group in 2007. We feel so blessed to have each of them in our lives and our thankful for the relationships we are building.

We were excited to take another trip skiing; we went to Steamboat, Colorado. We went with the Eller family; we just love to spend time with Matt and Lynn and the kids. Despite most of them getting sick, we were able to trek many miles in the snow. Next year Grant and I plan to be in much better shape... That is the reason for our recent purchase of a fitness center membership!!

This fall and winter Grant became a big, bad hunter! I don't know that I have ever seen him so excited! It was great to see his passion and love for the outdoors. He went pheasant hunting with Eller and that is what got him all started. Next he was invited to deer hunt with my dad and brothers, they were able to share some great moments together. My brothers love Grant and appreciate the fact that he enjoys their hobbies.
